Exhibition Divadlo Svět-Theatrum Mundi At the New Town Hall in Prague from 5 December 2024

On the occasion of the missed 85th birthday of Jaroslav Kerles, his family prepared a unique exhibition in the premises of the Gallery on the ground floor of the New Town Hall in Prague, which takes place from December 5, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
This exhibition will present the work of Jaroslav Kerles from a completely new perspective. For the first time, previously unpublished and unexhibited free works will be exhibited here, which the author himself included in a collection with the working title Divadlo Svět - Theatrum Mundi. These works - a kind of living paintings - will reveal to the audience how Jaroslav Kerles perceived the world around us. A world full of fun, beauty, but also absurdity, grotesqueness and the mysterious unknown. There will also be the author's favorite cartoon jokes, a varied selection of book illustrations and works for children. The World Theater of Jaroslav Kerles will play out these better-known drawings even more and prepare a caress for the soul and the eyes in the run-up to Christmas for visitors of all generations, not only for those who know the work of Jaroslav Kerles well, but also for those who meet it for the first time.
